Splendor: A Summer for Your Soul
June '22 - Aug '22
Summer is a time to break away from the regular routine of life to rest and recover. And although we typically only think of finding rest for our physical, mental, and emotional health, we often forget the one part of us most in need of recovery: the soul. But what is the soul? Is a soul something you have or is it something you are? The soul is an interesting thing, because everyone is familiar with their own, but few can actually explain what it is. And if we have a hard time understanding what it is, then how will we be able to nurture and protect it? It would seem that if the soul is something given or created by God, that it would be of the utmost importance to care for! Instead, many either rarely think about their soul (how or what they’re feeding it) or are aware that their soul is being torn apart. This summer, we’re going to dive into the book of Psalms, which is right smack dab in the middle of the Bible, because of the heavy emphasis of the soul throughout! In this 12-week series, we’re going to dive into the depths of our own soul and answer some of the simplest and some of the most difficult questions concerning the most important part of our being. This series will unpack the need of our soul to be met with the splendor of God. This is Splendor: a Summer for your soul.
